It’s no secret that I am a HUGE fan of staycations. Not only are they easy to plan and wonderful to do last minute, but they are the perfect answer to a mini-escape.
Recently I set of for Cornwall with a very dear friend to have a week of limited phone signal, no Wi-Fi and the British countryside at its most glorious. I am not ashamed to admit that I was in dire need of a social media detox and this break would be the answer to that. Why wouldn’t you go?
The trip was perfect. Visiting Cornwall is like stepping back in time, it’s kept its charm. The ultimate, perfect, quaint charm; I genuinely adored it. It was the break I needed to recharge for the oodles of change that seems to be heading our way at home.
It was me, lots and lots of good local food and my camera. I’m still trying to get the hang off all this photography stuff so a week away, snapping over 1000 pictures was just what I needed to try and hone my current (and partially effective) ‘point, shoot and hope’ approach.
If you’re looking for somewhere to go, to switch off, to enjoy coastal walks, miles of perfect beaches and probably some of the friendliest locals I’ve ever met, Cornwall is for you. I’m currently devising a list of my ‘must do’ things – so do keep your eyes peeled for this.
